Leandro Trossard has officially completed his £27 million move to Arsenal. After falling out with manager Roberto De Zerbi at Brighton & Hove Albion, the Belgium international was eager for a January switch.Arsenal could have waited until the summer when Trossard's contract expired, but instead opted to swoop now after missing out on Mykhaylo Mudryk - who instead joined Chelsea. On paper, it looks a smart piece of business by Arsenal and an acquisition that could boost their chances of winning the Premier League title.

Trossard has certainly proven his quality on English shores since joining Brighton from Genk in the summer of 2019.

The 28-year-old progressed through the ranks at the Belgian club and then went on to score 39 goals in 120 matches at senior level.

Trossard is also far from the only footballer who's kickstarted their professional career at Genk in recent years.

In fact, you can create a hugely talented XI made up of active players who were eventually sold by the Blauw-Wit.

Believe us when we say it features some serious ballers...

Genk's brilliant XI of sold players

GK - Thibaut Courtois (Real Madrid)

Probably the best goalkeeper on the planet right now. Courtois spent two years in Genk's first-team before joining Chelsea in 2011.

RB - Timothy Castagne (Leicester City)

One of the Premier League's best full-backs on his day. Castagne forged a glowing reputation at Genk, which saw Atalanta come calling in 2017. He swapped Italy for Leicester three years later.

CB - Kalidou Koulibaly (Chelsea)

He may have struggled at Chelsea so far, but Koulibaly was among the world's best defenders for years. The Senegalese giant joined Genk from Metz in 2012, before moving to Napoli in 2014.

CB - Christian Kabasele (Watford)

Probably the most underwhelming name in the XI. But Kabaselse has been a pretty good servant to Watford since signing in 2016 - and he also has two Belgium caps to his name.

LB - Joakim Maehle (Atalanta)

It's surely only a matter of time before Maehle is lighting up the Premier League. He's a magnificent attack-minded full-back, who's excelled for both Atalanta and Denmark. On the international stage, Maehle has nine goals in 34 appearances, which says it all really.

CDM - Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester City)

There was a time when Ndidi was revered as one of the best DMs in world football. The last few years haven't been overly kind to him, but even if he doesn't rediscover his best form, the £17 million Leicester paid Genk for his services in 2017 will always be viewed as a bargain.

CM - Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (Lazio)

Even Lazio couldn't have foreseen what a star Milinkovic-Savic would become after signing him from Genk in 2015. The Serbian can do it all in the middle of the park and it's why Europe's elite are permanently linked with his signature.

CM - Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City)

The best midfielder in the world, bar none. De Bruyne's exciting displays at Genk prompted Chelsea to sign him in 2012, although the move didn't work out. He certainly didn't let the failure derail his career, though...

RW - Leon Bailey (Aston Villa)

Villa's lightning-quick winger really caught the eye at Genk and subsequently moved to Bayer Leverkusen in 2017, where he really did thrive. Hopefully we get to see the very best of the Jamaican under Unai Emery's leadership.

ST - Leandro Trossard (Arsenal)

Oh, a very familiar name...

LW - Yannick Carrasco (Atletico Madrid)

Carrasco never made a senior appearance for Genk, but did play for the club at youth level. The Belgium regular has enjoyed a pretty good career up to this point and is one of Atletico's most dangerous players.
